According to Lino Spiteri, who resigned as Finance Minister after the first Socialist budget in 1996 is condemning what he "had" to state during his budget, i.e. the removal of the Value Added Tax (VAT).
Alfred Sant has every possibility to reintroduce VAT......his stubbornness is the cause of the high cost of living.
